hey there! i’m ikiea sherry!
I’m a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, partnering with God to create content that encourages and inspires people on their healing journeys. I recently moved to Huntersville, NC, from Tampa, Florida, and I come from a big, loving family that means the world to me. I wear many hats—writer, author, poet, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend—and I cherish them all. My family, friends, and church communities have been incredible support systems, teaching me the value of transparency, vulnerability, and honesty. They keep me laughing, crying, and growing all at the same time!
My healing journey
I've been on this inner healing journey for over 15 years, and let me tell you—it’s been a roller coaster! I’ve walked through pain, trauma, rejection, fear, addiction, and more. Some days, I feel empowered to keep moving forward, growing and evolving. Other days, I just want to turn back to old, familiar paths—even when I know they lead to dead ends. But healing is a daily choice. I have to choose to change, to grow, to truly live and embrace joy. And I’ve learned that I can’t do it alone.
Being part of supportive communities has allowed me to be open, real, and committed to my healing. Christian counseling, deliverance, and finding healing from past pain and trauma have been key to my progress. Healing isn’t always easy, but I know it’s worth it.
My heart
I have a deep passion for seeing people healed and freed from trauma, pain, and the struggles they’ve faced. Through my writing and resources, I hope to walk alongside others as they navigate their own healing journeys. While I wear many hats, one of my most treasured roles is being a healing journey advocate. Healing can be long and lonely, but you don’t have to do it alone. My hope is that this website becomes a space where you find helpful content, encouragement, and a community that truly understands. Healing is personal, but it requires the support of others. May you find wisdom, freedom, and strength here.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." — 3 John 1:2 (KJV)
My WORK
I’m a proud member of Word Weavers International and part of the Word Weavers Page 48 online writing critique group. My debut book, Moving Forward: Poems from My Journey Toward Inner Healing, was published in December 2020. I’ve also written several blogs and had a devotion titled “Stay Fruitful” published in Word Weavers Daily Devotions on December 26, 2023. Writing is one of the ways I process my journey and share what I’ve learned. I can’t wait to go on this healing journey with you. We can heal together!
Disclaimer: I’m not a licensed counselor or therapist. Everything I share here comes from my own personal healing journey. My hope is that my experiences encourage and inspire you, but always seek professional help when needed.
